Overview

- Manage medication intake processes, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Support patient service initiatives by providing clear medication information and addressing patient inquiries with professionalism.
- Prepare and verify medication orders for critical care and acute care units, ensuring timely delivery for patient treatment.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including infection control protocols and safety procedures related to medication handling.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate medication administration and optimize patient outcomes.
- Conduct inventory management tasks such as stock replenishment, expiration date monitoring, and order processing for pharmacy supplies.
- Uphold strict aseptic techniques during all sterile compounding activities to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety.
Skills
- Proven experience as a pharmacy technician within LTC pharmacy or hospital environments.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to pharmacy practice and patient care.
- Critical care experience is highly desirable, particularly in managing complex medication regimens.
- Expertise in IV infusion preparation, aseptic technique, and medication administration procedures.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations.
