Conveniently located just south of Sheridan Lake Colorado off Hwy 385, we service Kansas, Colorado, and Oklahoma customers alike with premium seed wheat!

This year, we are excited to offer three excellent PlainsGold varieties, Whistler, Guardian, and Sheridan - a new PlainsGold variety named after our very own hometown of Sheridan Lake Colorado! 

Whistler is a great choice for dry land farmers looking for a hardy variety that focusses on maximum yield. It offers robust resistances to both stem rust and WSMV, as well as good resistance to stripe and leaf rust. It’s later maturing allows farmers greater flexibility at harvest and helps it convert late rainfall into higher yields. We personally found this to perform exceptionally well despite below average rainfall and did not find the slender stalks (one of the few drawbacks of Whistler) to be an issue.

Guardian is one of the most significant strategies wheat varieties on the market today. Its unparalleled protection against WSMV and strong defense against stripe, leaf, and stem rust has enabled many farmers to reclaim high yields on disease prone ground. It is also designed to produce high test weights, further boosting its potential. 

Sheridan represents the cutting edge of PlainsGold genetics. It has been meticulously engineered to be exceptionally drought tolerant with an extra-long coleoptile allowing farmers to plant into deep lying moisture. It also has an increased protein deviation, enabling this variety to readily assimilate nitrogen and sulfur, leading to better and more consistent protein levels. It even eclipses Guardian and Whistler with its rust resistance, while maintaining a good defense against WSMV!
