She’s an oldie, but a goodie! Please go read about Champion hulls… they are some of the very best in the business.
This is a matching 1993 boat motor and trailer. I bought it from the original owner who bought it off the showroom floor brand new in 1993. When he passed away three years ago, I bought it from his daughter. The original owner was a former Marine and after being discharged, he became a mechanic. This boat is in really really good shape considering it’s 33 years old. I have every piece of paper from this boat and the records that he kept about the boat.
The motor is a two-stroke. She sputters a little, chugs a little, then she warms up… And then she runs great! The original owner mixed Gas and oil together… He didn’t want any mechanical problems due to oil injectors.
Everything works as it should. The gauges, the power switch, the navigation lights, the bilge, and the live well aerator all work. Two years ago, I put on two matching Garmin Echomap UHD 93SV sonars, one on the transom that you can read from the drivers seat, and one on the trolling motor. The trolling motor is a Minnkota maxim 70 pound thrust, 24 V system. It works perfect. There is an onboard three battery charging system. And the original owner created a cheat sheet that tells you what all the lights mean on the charger. Easy to understand! Everything is original on this boat. The trailer and lights work. The original vinyl seats are pretty cool… No rips or tears. The carpet is original and matted, but again no rips or tears. This boat has always been tarped and stored indoors. There are a few marks on the side of the boat from some encounters with the dock over the years. And a couple spots were the gel coat is a little light. But for a boat of this age, it is in remarkable condition. Sankey Marine in Salina put a new impeller in the engine last year.
I hate to get rid of it, but I bought a deck boat for family fun and fishing…. I just don’t need to store two boats.
This boat is the 184 Series (DC / Fish & Ski):
This hull features wide casting decks and excellent rough-water handling. From the Internet: 1993 Champion fishing and bass boats were legendary. They featured arguably the best rough-water ride and handling in the industry, pairing an incredibly smooth, dry ride with excellent fishability. They remain highly sought-after by anglers today.
I have more pictures. You can come see it anytime. We can go to the lake and put it on the water. I don’t think you will be disappointed! Contact me and let's visit.
