This gun is mechanically sound and has been checked for safety. The bore is bright and clear. The gun shows little wear. 

This is an Essex Arms Frame made with Colt parts from a Brazillian Army contract after the war when the pistols were sold off. It's hard to tell but these pistols were sent over in 1937 and continued through World War II

Adoption: The Brazilian Army officially adopted the .45 ACP caliber and purchased thousands of Colt M1911/M1911A1 government pistols and S&W M1917 revolvers starting in 1937.

Markings: Colt pistols made under these historic military contracts feature the Brazilian national crest and the stamp EXERCITO BRASILEIRO on the right side of the slide.

World War II: These .45 ACP sidearms were famously carried by the Brazilian Expeditionary Force (FEB) during the Italian Campaign.
