This is a Smith & Wesson model 1 second issue 22 rimfire. I had this gun authenticated from the Smith &Wesson Historical Foundation and that letter will be included with the sale. This gun shipped from the S&W factory 159 years ago on October 31st 1867, only 2 years after the Civil war ended! Read the entire 2 page letter for details of this specific gun. An amazing piece of American History. Also includes an 1860s tobacco tin with 22 black powder rimfire cartridges that are safe to shoot in the antique revolver.
