Description

I built this rifle several years ago from all Tony Kidd parts (except the Magpul stock).  It has had no more than a brick of shells through it.  I really haven't worked with it nearly as much as I should, but I do remember several .3" MOA groups at 50 yards (with 10-year-old CCI SV).  It's definitely a shooter.

Weighs 6lbs on the nose without bipod, including Magpul furniture (M-Lok QR holes and Harris bipod attachment).  Has a Kidd 10MOA rail on it now, but a zero MOA rail is included. Also has the Kidd quick release mag lever (original lever included).  Also heavy and light Kidd recoil springs (standard spring installed) and 3 heights of comb for the Magpul stock.  Bolt is the higher end hatch-engraved. (Harris bipod shown not included.)

Receiver has a hole in the back to clean it from the breach end.  Trigger is 1-stage adjustable (I left it as it came from Tony).  Has the Kidd screw-in receiver pins so pins don't fall out when you remove the action from the stock.  Magpul stock included two support pieces for the front of the barrel, but I have never used them  (they are included).  Thread pitch is 1/2x28 if you want to put a suppressor or brake on it.

Barrel is sleeved by Lothar Walther.  More on the barrel from Tony Kidd:

  • Bull profile where it counts: Starts as .920" for the first 2", then steps to .876" — a true bull look up front for stability, trimmed down toward the muzzle for lighter handling.
  • Lightweight, accurate design: Engineered to sit between our heavy and ultra-light offerings — the 18" model weighs ~2 lb while maintaining a rigid, match-capable platform guaranteed ½" at 50 yards (5 shots).
  • Stainless-core construction with sleeve styling: A stainless-steel core provides strength and dimensional stability while a fluted sleeve gives the classic bull-barrel appearance and added rigidity.
  • Match-grade manufacturing: Bored & rifled by Lothar Walther (Germany), finished and hand-machined by Tony Kidd with a proprietary chamber reamer for smooth feeding.
  • Extractor & crown: Precision convex extractor slot for reliable extraction and an 11° crown + double ring at the muzzle; KIDD marked.

This is absolutely in the extremely high quality custom-built 10/22 sporter arena, and a joy to carry and to shoot.
