Jessie 🐮
She lost her calf a couple weeks ago, I'm actually not entirely sure what happened but I was going to just beef her. Since then she's been letting all the babies nurse off her! She constantly has 2-3 calves nursing off her. She would make someone a great nurse cow 🐄
I think you could probably train her to milk if you wanted. We've never milked her and she's not like "pet you" tame but I can walk right up around her and she comes up for treats at night. Very gentle! She is a jersey cross so has the potential to milk well or feed multiple calves, especially in subsequent lactations 🥛
She's never had any special treatment on feed. She will keep body condition on forage alone. She had her first calf when she was really young (like 18 months old) and raised it just fine! This was her second calf and she's 2.5 years old.
She is just bred out of season for our cows and we are about to wean all our calves in a couple weeks. Selling her for what I could beef her for $3,000
She's also A2A2 and has been disease tested, negative for Johnnes, BLV, BVD, and TB
