The Nursing Services RN Supervisor is responsible for providing clinical oversight of all patient care within the Surgical Services Department. This position serves as the clinical authority for perioperative nursing practice and ensures that all patient-care activities comply with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies. While the Surgical Services Administrator (Administrator) serves as the department’s administrative and operational leader, the Supervisor retains sole responsibility for clinical workflows, clinical quality, and nursing practice oversight in the Surgical Services Department. The Supervisor and the Administrator work in close partnership to ensure cohesive and efficient department operations with clear boundaries: all nursing service activities fall under the Supervisor; all administrative, financial, and operational functions fall under the Administrator. Surgical Services Department associates with an RN or LPN license will report to the Supervisor.
