This beautiful carnival glass bowl by L.E. Smith has its original label. This is a classic geometric Hobstar pattern with a saw tooth edge on the scalloped edge. This pieces dates to the 1960s or 1970s. This is a heavy bowl; as you can see in the photos, the glass at the rim is almost a 1/4” thick. Although Smith bowls came in many colors, this one is rendered in lovely Amethyst. The arched Hobstar sections alternate with inverted triangular-shaped sections with a star design. The underneath side of the bowl features a starburst design. The inside bottom of the bowl is marked with Smith ‘S’ mark.
The bowl measures about 4” tall. The diameter of the upper opening is 7”. The bowl is 7-3/4” wide. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
