Legendary S&W J-frame "Bodyguard" lightweight .38 snubbie.  Aluminum frame, stainless steel barrel and cylinder rated for the hotter +P .38 Specials.  It offers the best of both worlds by frame-shrouding the hammer--it allows a snag-free draw from purse, pocket, or holster AND it allows single-action shooting because you can cock the hammer.  The hammer shroud makes it ideal for self-defense carry because it limits legal liability exposure (it's much harder to argue that you cocked the hammer and then shot the bad guy by accident because of negligence since the hammer is not easily cocked).  It's essentially a double action revolver with the option of single action on occasion.  Has internal locking system for child safety.
