Shepherds Gate Dairy is seeking a dependable motivated person who loves animals to work as a relief milker.  We raise dairy goats on our farm west of Pfeifer KS.  We need someone to milk and feed the goats, horses and other animals at least 4 times a week.  And to also fill in extra days when we will be gone on trips, etc.  Milking hours start at 530 AM and 330 PM Usual work shift is about 3 hours long during spring and summer, during winter maybe slightly less.  Your regular scheduled days may vary but would like someone to do at least a couple morning shifts a week and two evening shifts a week, then available for others as needed.  We frequently will need to go somewhere for a short trip and may need one extra shift covered or sometimes morning and evening 3-4 days in a row.  So need someone available and flexible. The regular shift days can be somewhat flexible as to what days work for you. Note: we do have one two week stretch we will need this person to do morning and evening for that whole time period if possible.  That would be from May 13- May 27 Duties include milking dairy goats, most of the time by machine but sometimes by hand.  Cleaning, washing equipment.  Feeding animals on the farm in addition to the goats, horses, chickens, etc.  some general cleaning.  We are 20 miles SE of Hays (1.5 miles outside of Pfeifer) so dependable transportation is a must.
