Custom built small dog/cat house.  This house is better built than some homes.  It was custom built for a stray cat we were feeding.  The old, old garage he was staying in was torn down, so we built him a home.  This house is built with 2 x 4 frame lumber in the walls, floor joists and vaulted ceiling.  It is insulated with R-13 4" bat insulation in the walls, floor, and ceiling.  It is finished inside (carpet) and out (regular siding and 50 year shingles and even a threshold).  It has a custom built removal roof that fits tight around the framed walls.  The entry door is offset for protection of the animal and a windbreak.  A lot of thought and preparation went into the construction to make it a well built house.  Yep, it was overbuilt but served "Al" the cat for his lifetime.  This shelter house still has a lot of years of service left in it.
