Smoky Hill Education Service Center is seeking candidates for the position of Administrative Assistant/Office Manager. 

This person will be responsible for managing the SHESC Hays office and assisting the Smoky Hill administrative team with day to day operations of the service center.  The successful candidate will be motivated, hardworking, proficient using technology as communication and recordkeeping tools, and able to function in a dynamic environment while working on various projects simultaneously.

Position Responsibilities Include: 

  • Preparing for and hosting service center workshops and events.

  • Maintaining accurate customer contact lists.

  • Monitoring office supplies and procuring necessary materials.

  • Tracking and scheduling vehicle maintenance.

  • Providing general support and assistance during workshops and meetings.

  • Assisting with office operations such as answering phones, greeting guests, and hosting events. 

  • Registering customers for events and maintaining attendance records.

  • Performing other duties as assigned by Smoky Hill ESC leadership.
     

Additional Requirements:

  • Proficiency in the use and operation of technology and telephone systems.

  • Ability to work both independently and effectively as a member of a team.

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and maintain positive working relationships with staff members and customers.

  • Strong aptitude for learning new skills, adapting to new technologies, and implementing new practices.

  • Effective organization and time management skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication (both oral and written) skills.

  • Production of accurate work with attention to detail within time constraints.

  • Effective working relations with customers and other agency employees.

  • Proven experience as an administrative assistant or office manager.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook in particular).

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.

Ultimately, a successful Administrative Assistant/Office Manager would ensure the efficient and smooth day-to-day operation of our Hays office.
