Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital - Nursing Administration is looking for full-time Registered Nurse - Emergency Preparedness, Risk Management & Policy Coordinator.

Position Overview

Responsible for clinical identification, risk evaluation and coordination of corrective action implementation related to risk issues.  Provides intervention and education related to risk management issues to promote safe work practices and quality care and services; in an environment that is beneficial to the safety, health and well-being of all patients, visitors and hospital staff.  Coordinates risk programs with all hospital departments, administration and the legal risk manager.  Reports real and potential risk situations to the Governing Body, medical staff, administration, hospital departments and committees, as appropriate.  Responsible for establishing and monitoring methods to avoid, eliminate and/or reduce risk situations associated with the provision of patient care and services.  Manages Emergency Response Program.

Essential Job Functions

  • 1 full-time position available

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Kansas

  • 5 or more years of previous experience in nursing administration including risk management and emergency preparedness.

  • Knowledge of basic components of nurse leadership and risk management, including potentially compensable events, risk investigation, reporting and claims management.

  • Ability to prepare risk identification reports in summary format, for presentation to hospital administration, the medical staff and the Governing Body.

  • Summarizes risk management data for appropriate evaluation and risk trend analysis.

  • Manages Emergency Response Program including updating policies and organizing meetings. 

  • Provides oversight and guidance on policies and participates in policy review with auditors.

  • Maintain and update all resource materials associated with emergency preparedness plans.

  • Develop and perform tests and evaluations of emergency management plans in accordance with state and federal regulations.

  • Other duties as assigned.
