1920(ish) JD Wallace 16” band saw. Solid cast iron bandsaw. It was completely disassembled, stripped, de-rusted down to the smallest nut/bolt. Bearings were replaced throughout the saw, motor was disassembled, has new tires and a new blade, gear box was cleaned and it has fresh oil (direct drive - gears are in excellent condition). Everything was primed/painted before reassembly. For all practical purposes this is a new 100 year old saw. These saws were designed for light industrial used and marketed by Wallace for that purpose. But the footprint is pretty much identical to a modern 14” saw. Speaking of modern saws, check the price on a new Grizzly, Jet, Delta or Powermatic. You’ll quickly find that this saw is a bargain. Then compare quality. Finally, ask yourself what the odds that a modern saw you might buy today will be functioning in another 100 years. Then come take a look at this saw. It will be in my shop till sold, so you’re more than welcome to come see it and take it for a test drive before buying. I have add’l pics on request.
