Description

Hull Console Bowl 1950s Pink & Black 71 Nautilus Shell Design Pattern

This lovely console bowl is rendered in pink and black — one of the most popular color combinations of the 1950s. The bowl has a curving rim that rises to a dramatic point in the center of each side. The point drops sharply and the rim there seems to dip into the design that decorates the side of the front. The design resembles the spiral center of a nautilus shell. The design appears on both sides.

While the black of the nautilus design fades outward to a dove gray, the inside of the bowl is a bold color of pink with a black bottom. The underside of the bowl is marked Hull USA with the number 71 to the right (see photos).

The bowl stands 4-1/2” tall. It is just over 12" long and is 4-1/2" deep, which does not include the nautilus designs on the front and back. The bowl is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. It is such a lovely bowl, and could be used for so many purposes. It's beautiful empty, but as winter sets in, load it with greenery and white flowers ... silk hydrangeas would be stunning ... for a charming reminder of spring.
