Larned State Hospital’s Social Services Department is looking for a Human Service Counselor for the State Security Program.  This position provides ongoing individual and group treatment for patients in accordance with accepted clinical standards and practice in the field of licensure. Model to paraprofessional staff regarding positive patient interactions with the overall goal of increasing treatment efficacy. Minimum Qualifications: Unclassified. Special Qualifications/Education: Positions at Mental Health Facilities require licensure at time of hire. Some positions require an approved drug test unless the incumbent is moving from one safety-sensitive position to another safety-sensitive position within the same agency performing substantially similar duties. MANDT Certification within sixty days of employment and maintain certification throughout employment. Preferred Education/Experience: Masters degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or a related human services degree; licensed or license eligible through the Behavior Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB) within 30-days of employment and one year of clinical/counseling experience or providing individual or group therapy.
