Description

Up for auction is a 1997 Honda Valkyrie GL1500C. I have owned this bike for the last 9 years, and have gotten incredible enjoyment out of it every time i got the opportunity to ride it. Unfortunately, those opportunities are getting even more rare as the years go by. Now, with the move to a new house and a new city just around the corner, combined with some unexpected expenditures, It has gotten to a point that it no longer makes sense to own it. So it might be your lucky day if you are in the used motorcycle market. You would be hard pressed to ever find a more reliable bike. It fires immediately upon pressing 'START' button and never misses a beat after that. there is no sturrering or hiccups of any kind. Sits and purrs like a kitten when idling, and has smooth instant throttle response when you twist on it. (Throttle cable has been replaced and works better than it did when it was new). It steers and maneuvers very well considering its size.  The weight is distributed nice and evenly so holding it upright is a breeze. This makes handling long trips a lot easier also. I've had it up to Sturgis twice and down by Phoenix once. Those were the longest trips; not a single problem on any of them.

The huge horizontally opposed Flat Six Engine they stuff into these bikes is where the real story is. This thing makes incredible, whip-lash inducing power that will rip you right off the seat if you do not respect it. Fortunately, for me, this bike is relatively stock and hasnt had all the high performace upgrades that can make them even more wicked; otherwise i probably wouldnt be here to type this listing. With the exception of a Cobra exhaust (full system), having the timing advanced, and some fuel tuning, the bike hasnt had any modification that i am aware of. Just those few things made a heck of a power difference that a person would have to ride to appreciate. All these modification and mechanicing was done by reputable dealership service departments. Bike never missed a service appointment as long as i owned it and was always winterized if i knew i wasnt going to ride in a few months. Fork were just rebuilt this summer and had all seals replaced. Front tire is in excellent shape but the rear will need to be replaced soon.

A couple years after i got it, the wind got ahold of her in my driveway and blew her over. not much damage was suffered but there are a few scratches and scrapes from it. Bike is also missing right side cover (as you can see in pictures). Comes with tall windshield
