1990 Kenworth Service Truck, 380 horse 3406B Cat motor, Fuller 9 speed - over drive, will cruise down the road at 70 MPH very easy, IFTA records show fuel average of 7.1 MPG.  Has air ride suspension. Motor starts very good, even in cold weather without being plugged in. Owner designed and Hand made / Custom made service box, Lots and lots of room.  The service box is 18' long and 6' high, with 2' x 2' x 18' storage / parts storage above both side boxes. Also has rear work bench. This was made to be a "shop on wheels", because of the distances it travels from the home shop.

 This truck travels around the country doing service calls - a lot, and is currently on the road working.  As of Mar 1, this truck was still on the road, possibly be back at Palisade, Ne on Mar 4 or Mar 6 for inspection. Will be updating posting on when it is back to Palisade. The added pictures show how the inside of the side boxes are set up, but NO TOOLS or ACCESSORIES are included in the price, the pictures ONLY show how the owner set up and used the service truck. All side boxes on the service box will be empty, for you to put your tools in. The front and rear, tall side boxes, are 26" deep, 6' tall opening. The side box doors open and hinge at the top, this provides shade and some protection from the rain. The owner built the doors this way, because he didn't want to walk in and out of doors, and wanted a straight wall to walk down along side.

     The service box houses large tool boxes, area for technical manuals, storage for electrical cords and air hoses, cutting torch, air compressor, generator / welder [ on roll out rack ], wire welder, storage for ladders, large area for bolts / nuts / hardware, 1- long 8' drawer, 10- 4' long drawers - under the bed floor, owner uses one compartment just for air conditioner equipment / parts storage.  Large area for parts storage above the side boxes on both sides.

Again ALL TOOLS / ACCESSORIES - ARE NOT INCLUDED with the truck.

Will leave the National N-55 crane on the truck, included in the price.   Will remove the crane if not desired.  No welders, generator, tool boxes, tech manuals, any other tools and accessories are included - these will all be removed.

    This truck belongs to Steinke Farm Services - that was at Logan, Kansas - for many years, and traveled throughout the north central / central Kansas, and south central Nebraska areas, you have seen this one on the road in that area, many times.  This truck would be perfect for a custom harvester, or large farmer that has farms spread out wide. This truck was used for "on the farm" repair of agricultural equipment, that regularly traveled 100 - 200 miles from the shop. 

This truck has been driven only by the owner – since it was rebuilt by the owner and put on the road on August 27, 2003. The truck has 982,988 total miles – currently has second speedometer. The truck has been driven 147,688 miles since put on the road. 147,688 miles have been driven since new front and rear main seals, new clutch, brake shoes / drums, drive line u-joints, rebuilt power divider, all new bushings in air ride suspension, all new brake pots, rebuilt radiator and intercooler, engine fan. Has parking brakes on all 4 rear wheels.  Brake shoes and drums are very good.  Rear tires = left front – 80%, right front – 10%,  left rear – 50%, right rear – 50%.  Front axle tires –  95-100%. Has Jake brakes, but owner does not use them, did work when disconnected. Will need D.O.T. Truck inspection.

133,966 miles since rebuilt air compressor.  120,385 miles since rebuilding front axle – king pins, bushings, steering ball joints, bushings / bolts in front axle springs.  101,830 miles since rebuilding steering gear box.  74,853 miles since rebuild injection pump, reman injectors, and last run overhead. 46,244 miles since oil change out on transmission, and both rear axles.  5,827 miles since new tires on front axle.  Engine oil has been changed every 6000 – 6500 miles, using Rotella oil, has 3100 miles - since last oil change.
