Essential Job Responsibilities and Operation Procedures include the following:

·         Building and grounds maintenance, including: lighting, water treatment, heating, cooling, ventilation and building integrity.

·         Process and material handling equipment efficiency and integrity.

·         Other duties as assigned.

·         Must be able to work overtime, holidays or weekends when assigned.

·         Must provide own tools.

·         Must be proficient at a minimum of three of the competencies listed below. Must also have functional competence six or more of the competencies below.

·         Be able to analyze problems and proficiently solve them related to this plants needs. Persons with Tech I classification must have or gain knowledge of the equipment used in battery manufacturing and the plant operations. Specific skills include, but are not limited to:

o   Machining

o   Centrifugal, Piston and Diaphragm Pumps.

o   Hydraulic and Pneumatic pumps and controls systems.

o   Heating Ventilation Cooling

o   All facets of construction.

o   Pipe Fitting

o   Welding and Assembly

o   Mold and Die Maintenance

o   Electrical Controls Diagnostic Ability

They must be familiar with OSHA regulations for safety including, Lock-Out/Tag-Out, Hazardous Chemical Storage, PPE, Confined Space Entry and Environmental Policies associated with battery manufacturing. Employees qualified for Tech I must have ability to organize, coordinate and perform multiple tasks efficiently and accurately. Maintain a safe working environment, reporting all unsafe conditions to affected department team managers, operates equipment in accordance with prescribed safety procedures, adheres to applicable local, state, and federal ordinances regarding material storage, usage, and disposal.

Maintenance personnel must have good communication skills to work with co-workers and all plant personnel, regardless of level. Must be a self-starter with minimal supervision needed.

Demonstrate a consistently positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous, and professional attitude as well as behaviors consistent with support of successful operation of the plant.

 

Protective Equipment: Employee is required to wear company issued uniforms, safety shoes, hearing protection where required, respirator when necessary per policy/standard, gloves for some tasks, and safety glasses with side shields.

 

Mathematical skills: Ability to apply basic math; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

 

Reasoning Ability: Ability to adapt to frequent or sudden changes in priorities and move between assignments effectively.

Education and/or Experience: Must have High School Diploma or GED with additional Vo-tech Certificate and the equivalent of two years on-the-job training. Experience in  facility maintenance preferred.

 

Working Conditions:  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

·         This job requires the ability to lift 30-50 pounds routinely.  This job also requires the ability to raise objects from lower to higher positions, as well as from higher to lower positions safely while using upper extremities and lower extremities together or independently to perform repairs, removals and installations.

·         Standing and walking for long periods of time and long distance may be required to preserve and protect vital assets and workplaces.

·         This job requires the ability to routinely ascend and descend ladders, stairs scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like using feet, legs and/or hands and arms. It requires body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.

·         This job requires the ability to push and pull using upper extremities with something of substantial resistance in order to position up, down, left, right, in, out and any combination of the above in order to place equipment and materials to perform repairs, removals and installations.

·         This job requires the ability to perceive attributes of objects, specifically; shape, size, temperature and texture with fingers for grasping, moving and keyboarding, as well as applying pressure with fingers and palms to hold or move objects.

·         This job requires the ability to express and exchange ideas. This includes activities in which information must be conveyed in detailed, instructions to others. It also requires the ability to perceive sounds of normal, low and high frequencies.

·         Plant may be very cold in the winter and very hot in the summer.

  • Blood draws to check blood leads is required, as per policy.
