Description

I have an 84 GMC pickup for sale.  I am having issues uploading the pictures from my camera to my computer.  I am currently working to fix the problem and get the pictures uploaded very soon.  My apologies for the pictures so I went into great detail until I get pictures posted.  Hope this helps. It has a Chevy 350 that's paired to a 3 spd automatic transmission. The farmer I bought this pickup from had the original 305 motor professionally swapped with a new GM Crate 350 and a rebuilt transmission in 1995.  The reason he did this was because he hauled a cattle trailer with it and needed the extra horsepower.  He bought this pickup brand new in 1984 and he used it as his good pickup to take animals to the fair  or to run errands.  He also ran a country mail route and drove this truck around to deliver the mail.  He took very good care of this pickup and I am only the 2nd owner and I have done the same.  When I bought the pickup at the farmers estate sale everyone at the sale told me that the old man never had that truck moving any faster that 45 miles an hour.  This was a very well taken care of pickup with only wear and tear that comes with age.  The horn works, turn signal indicaters in the dash work,  cigarette lighter (12V power supply) works, the emergency brake works, the dash has a few cracks from getting dry in the sun (I have put McGuires protectant/shine wipes to soften and protect it better), the brakes work good (no fluid leaks), the shocks aren't too bad but probably need replaced soon, the Universal joints were inspected and ok at the last oil change, and the rear differential does not leak whatsoever is in good working order.  The truck has manual windows and locks. It still has the original AM radio that is still in working order. The pickup has 2 roll down windows, the 2 triangle shaped vent windows, and 2 air vents down at the feet.  The pickup has a solid rear window.  The pickup also has the 2 original side mirrors and the rear view mirror has a bright light dimmer switch. Has a good working heater and defroster.  The fan works good and blows pretty good air. The driver side of the bench seat got rough from the every day wear and tear of getting in and out of the truck so there is a seat cover over it. Guages all work. Fuel, Oil Pressure, Water Temp., Speedometer, Voltmeter. Has a single 20 gal. fuel tank. Seat belts work. Wind sheild wipers work and I had new ones put on in October. Has a windshield washer fluid reservoir (that has no cracks or leaks) and a pump motor but it doesn't spray fluid onto the windshield and I haven't figured out why.  Uses little to no oil and the pickup was/is serviced, lubed, and had the oil changed every 3000 miles.  Newer tires the 2 tires on the rear were put on in August 2010 and have maybe at the most 10,000 on them and the 2 tires in the front were put on in September 2010 and have less than 10,000 miles on them.  All 4 tires still have over 75% tread on them.  The tires are highway/all terrain and I have had no flats.  Tire size P235/75/R15.  The pickup has a spare tire with some tread on it (but I wouldn't go very far on it) and the spare is mounted on the passenger side bedside and is lockable to prevent theft of the spare tire.  The truck has white rims and all 4 original GMC hubcaps have managed to stay on the truck over all these years. The truck is gold in color and the body is straight with only couple small dings that are just minor dings that happen to cars in a parking lot everyday but thats it.  The front bumber is chrome and the rear bumper is white.  The pickup still has its original tail gate in working order.  All the lights work dim, brights, break, turn, running lights, backup, and dash lights all work.  Has a hookup for trailer lights but I never used it so I don't know if it works or not.  The passenger side window doesn't stay up. My father and I were deer hunting this December and the temperature was very cold.  When my father tried to roll down the window it made a strange loud noise and the glass window itself dropped down about 1-2inches and the crank handle became loose and it would no longer roll the window up or down. I haven't had a chance to dig into finding out what the exact problem is with the window.  So I don't know if either the window just simply came off its track or a mechanical piece inside the door suddenly broke due to very cold temperatures or not. That is the only thing wrong with it.  And I think the cost to fix the window will be relatively cheap if you get parts from a salvage yard and you can replace it yourself.  If you have to take it to a mechanic the parts will still be cheaper but the labor is where you will end up paying so much for.  The truck has no rust spots/holes/soft spots or anything like it anywhere on the pickup. It does have a couple places with "surface" rust which means the paint chipped off over the years(mainly from living and driving on gravel/sand roads) and rust has formed on the surface of the metal and the surface rust has no holes in it and there is no soft spots whatsoever.  The pickup's metal body parts (fenders, hood, bedside, etc.) are very solid. I drove the pickup back and forth from Great Bend to Ness City (about 60 miles) quite a few times for work this last summer and the truck ran straight down the highway at 70 miles an hour with no problems(and a few times during a couple of the trips I made the temperature outside was a miserable 100 degrees and the wind decided to blow 40 miles and hour and the pickup never overheated and even though it was so hot outside when I opened every window and vent I got really good air flow thru the cab and the ride wasn't that bad). This 84 GMC pickup is a very straight, clean, and a very well loved and taken good care of truck from 1984 to the present day and the pickup has only 97000 original miles and the motor and transmission have approx. only 46,000 miles on them.   I have no problems with the truck.  The reason I have to sell is because I bought a car that gets better gas mileage (since I travel 3 nights a week to Hays to take some night classes at FHSU) in hopes of saving some money.  I wish I could afford to keep both vehicles but I can't at this time.  Feel free to call me anytime if you have questions or would like to see/test drive the pickup at (620)617-3740 or email me.  I'm asking for $1,100 OBO
