10 year old gelding. 15.2 and stout-big horse. He is a very laid back horse . Will trail ride anywhere and has great ground manners. Will pivot on hind end and front end, will side pass, back up and flex at poll. will walk, trot and pick up both leads at a lope. His biggest weakness is hes lazy! He does have normal hock fusion and requires maintenance if being rode hard. He also needs front shoes on. If you want him to be push button you must wear spurs and be consistent-but he will do a lope departure from a standstill. Is patterned on the barrels but doesn't show the desire or speed to be a barrel horse. I have roped and drug "things" off of him-barrels, sleds, wagons....He has never worked cattle, but has "worked" donkeys, kids, dogs He has all the basics and it wouldn't take him long to become a great rope horse, trail horse, everyday using horse, ranch competition horse. I would like to trade for a sane "confidence builder" type barrel horse. It doesn't have to be running 1D. I am willing to do light maintenance on horse to keep it happy. This horse had two months off over holidays and in mid january we got some snow so we decided we would go sledding. He has never pulled a sled, so I saddled him up, jumped on and drug the sled up to house. My son jumped on sled and we went on a mile long sled ride-same horse everytime you get on him!
