Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Associate of Science or Associate of Applied Science from an accredited institution in chemical, physical or biological science or a Medical Laboratory Technology related degree. ASCP or equivalent. Previous lab supervision preferred. Must have thorough knowledge of procedures, theory and techniques employed in medical laboratories. Skilled in use of laboratory equipment. Duties: Performs laboratory procedures in in the following areas: Blood Banking, Chemistry, Hematology, Serology, Urine Analysis, Immunology, Phlebotomy, Coagulation and Arterial Blood Gas collection. Receives or obtains various specimens, runs quality controls and runs laboratory procedures. Sets up new calibration on tests as required, and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all tests performed and performing duties in accordance with established methods and techniques/recognized standards. Performs other duties as assigned. Adheres to all laboratory procedures and policies to include Safety, HIPAA and Infection Control. Some weekends, holidays and shared on call time required.
