The City of Russell is seeking a professional and community-oriented individual for the position of Volunteer Firefighter.

The City of Russell is situated at the crossroads of Interstate 70 and US Highway 281. The City of Russell Fire Department offers a variety of benefits to its service members. These benefits include Firefighter Relief Act Retirement Benefit, 24-hour death and dismemberment benefits, as well as Accident Insurance.

This position includes providing a valuable service to the community through working to prevent, combat, and extinguish fires. This positions also involves responding to incidents involving hazardous materials and various special rescue situations.

Applicant must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. and a valid Driver’s License. Applicant is expected to obtain Firefighter I Certification within two years from date of hire. Pre-employment drug screening, background check and job placement assessment are required. Employee will be expected to establish residency within Russell County within 6 months from date of hire.
