Grisell Memorial Hospital is currently seeking applications for a Full-Time or Part-Time Radiology Technologist.

Job Summary

Performs a variety of imaging procedures and is responsible for patient safety protocols. Functions as the first line interface with patients in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs. Participates in quality improvement activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Instructs and prepares patients for examinations.
• Responsible for safe handling of equipment and films.
• Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneious radiation to patients.
• Able to assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure; makes appropriate physician contact for intervention, as needed.
• Selects appropriate equipment to use for procedure.
• Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly.
• Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.
• Maintains basic records and reports.
• Maintains files.
• Interacts professionally with patient/family.
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric and general population.
• Acquainted with local fire and safety regulations.
• Demonstrates the values of team concept on a consistent basis.
• Maintains a good working relationship with staff and providers.
• Exhibits excellent judgment, discretion and decision-making abilities.
• Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
• Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
• Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.

Education and/or Experience

• Associates Degree, Bachelor's preferred.
• Experience as a Radiologic Technologist in the hospital setting preferred.
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• Current Kansas State License.
• Current BCLS certification.
