Beauty and the Beat – 1981 – IRS Records. $10.00   Hit songs = We Got the Beat & Our Lips are Sealed (all the songs are great!)

Beauty and the Beat was the debut album from the new wave all girl band from California The Go-Go's. Released July 14, 1981 on the I.R.S. Records label, the album reached number one on Billboard's Top LPs & Tape chart in March 1982, bolstered by its two big Hot 100 hit singles: "Our Lips Are Sealed" (no. 20) and "We Got the Beat" (no. 2), released in 1980, but in a different version. After a long and steady climb, Beauty and the Beat reached number one in the album chart dated March 6, 1982, the week before "We Got the Beat" entered the Top Ten of the Hot 100. The album stayed at the top for six consecutive weeks, and ranked second in Billboard's year-end Top 100 of 1982. The LP sold in excess of two million copies, and was RIAA-certified double platinum record, qualifying it as one of the most successful debut albums of all time. Critically acclaimed, it has been described as one of the "cornerstone albums of American new wave".

Pat Benatar - Crimes of Passion - 1980 Chrysalis Records  - $10.00

Hit songs = Hit Me With Your Best Shot, Treat Me Right,

The album debuted on the US Billboard 200 for the week ending August 23, 1980, and held at number two for five weeks in January 1981.  "You Better Run," the first single released on this album, was the second music video ever aired on MTV in 1981. Crimes of Passion is Benatar's best-selling album, having been certified four-times Platinum (for shipments in excess of over four million copies) in the United States and five-times Platinum (for shipments of 500,000 copies) in Canada.

The actual record is in very good condition. The album cover does show some slight wear.  The advantage of buying records “locally” here in Hays, KS (as opposed to buying a used record through Ebay), is you can visually inspect the record before you buy it and we will play it on my turntable so you can hear that it has no scratches or dings on the album.  It sounds great yet!  Plus you will not have to pay any shipping fees or deal with possible shipping damage of the record through UPS.
