Colby Community College is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as a full-time Grounds Supervisor to plan, supervise, and maintain Colby Community College's outdoor spaces, ensuring a safe, attractive, and functional environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors, while living in a welcoming community that values agriculture, athletics, and small-town quality of life. The salary range for this position is between $21.50 - $23.10.

This is a 12-month, full-time, non-faculty position with an anticipated schedule of at least 40 hours per week. Evening, weekend work may be required due to College operations.

The College offers up to $2,000 in relocation expense reimbursement to join our wonderful community.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance activities for campus grounds that include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the care and maintenance of all campus grounds, including lawns, trees, shrubs, sprinkler system, and flowerbeds.
  • Manage seasonal responsibilities such as snow removal, leaf collection, and storm cleanup to ensure safe access to campus.
  • Implement landscaping plans that promote campus aesthetics and environmental sustainability.
  • Oversee the application of fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides in compliance with environmental and safety standards.
  • Oversee the use, care, and maintenance of groundskeeping equipment, vehicles, and tools.
  • Recommend and purchase supplies, equipment, and materials necessary for grounds operations.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment by staff through training and oversight.
  • Clean, maintain, put down, and remove salt from the College grounds during winter storms.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma / GED.
  • At least one year of experience in custodial or maintenance operations is required.
  • Associae degree or higher is preferred.
  • Three years of experience in custodial or maintenance operations is preferred.


SALARY

$21.50 - $23.10 per hour, based on experience and education.

    Most work is performed outdoors in hot, cold, or inclement weather. Additional duties entail working in environmentally controlled buildings.  Exposure to fumes, noxious odors, dust, mists, gases, and hazardous chemicals exists.
