Description

Colby Community College is accepting applications for a full-time Assistant Athletic Trainer.  This position coordinates the prevention, management, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries sustained by student-athletes across 11 varsity sports. Colby Community College is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association and competes in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference. The salary range for this position is between $46,000 and $51,500.

The College offers up to $2,000 in relocation reimbursement to join our wonderful community.

Sponsorship may be available for individuals currently on OPT.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Assisting with injury and illness prevention, recognition, evaluation, management, treatment, disposition, rehabilitation, and return to full competition of student-athletes.
  • Providing athletic training coverage of home events.
  • Assisting student-athletes in preparing for therapy and recovery.
  • Assisting with dressing and undressing/removing braces and/or supportive equipment.
  • Communicating with athletic coaching staff regarding the status of the athlete's injury.
     

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in athletic training or a related field required.
  • NATA Certification required.
  • Licensed in the State of Kansas or the ability to become licensed within the first six months.
  • Master’s degree in athletic training or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in athletic training at the collegiate level preferred.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

$46,000-$51,500

Flexible benefits program includes options for single and family health and dental coverage, life insurance, reimbursement accounts, sick leave, and vacation leave allowances. Participation in the state retirement program is required.
