Cowboy action competition shoot in Hill City KS

Cowboy Action Shooting is a competitive shooting sport where participants use firearms from the Old West, such as 2 single-action revolvers, 1 lever-action rifle in pistol caliber and a side by side shotgun( or Winchester 1887 or 1897 and reproductions). It is a timed event where shooters compete on 6 courses of fire with steel targets, and it is organized under the governing body of the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS). A key feature is the emphasis on safety, with all participants following strict rules and wearing protective gear like safety glasses.
How it works
Stages:
Each match consists of 6 stages usually with 10 shots with rifle,10 shots with pistols and 2 to 6 shots with shotgun , often with scenarios based on Western movie scenes or famous historical events.
Firearms:
Shooters must use firearms typical of the Old West, including two single-action revolvers, a pistol-caliber lever-action rifle, and a shotgun.
Scoring:
The sport is timed, with competitors scoring based on their total time, which include penalties for missing targets.
Safety:
Safety is paramount, with a strict protocol that includes keeping firearms unloaded except when on the firing line and using protective gear like safety glasses and earplugs
