The Kansas Department of Transportation is seeking a detail-oriented professional to support district HR operations that help keep Kansas moving forward!
KDOT is currently hiring a Human Resource Professional I for the District Three Office in Norton, Kansas.
Job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Directs and administers the preparation and processing of personnel transactions for the district, including those for new hires, rehires, reinstatements, promotions, terminations, transfers, retirements, payroll reclassifications, leave without pay, and temps.
- Reviews incoming employment applications for open positions.
- Advises the district staff, Area Office Managers (AOMs), and employees on policies, procedures, statutes, and regulations to be followed in human resource management.
- Oversee three separate progression programs and training program reclassifications for the district.
- Tracks all CDL licenses for promotion and expiration purposes.
- Analyzes new Shared Leave requests, reviews for completeness, calculates hours needed for committee review, and completes processing.
- Coordinates drug and alcohol testing program for the district.
- Provides training to new district employees at Final Boarding.
Compensation:
- Annual Salary Range: $41,870.40 - $44,660.07
- Hourly Pay Range: $20.13 – 21.47

Minimum Qualifications:
- One year of experience in planning, directing, organizing, managing, or administering personnel or human resources functions.
- Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Transcripts are required for education to be considered.
- Valid Driver’s License at time of appointment.
Post-Offer/Pre-employment Requirements:
- Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate required in accordance with Executive Order 2004-03.
