Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital's Acute is looking for a full-time Patient Care Technician.
· Full-time position available 6 am – 2 pm
· Every other weekend shifts.
· Rotating holidays required.
Position Overview
Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care, and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assist nursing staff with duties in Acute care, ER, and outpatient.
· Quickly and courteously acknowledge requests, respond to duties, demonstrate proper phone etiquette, and foster communication within the department.
· Communicate effectively via a variety of modalities with patients, visitors, and facility staff; play an integral role in communication across the continuum of care.
· Ensure that patient rooms are ready for admission.
· Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
· Verify that medical records contain complete and accurate patient demographic information, patient identification, and registration in the medical record, including the appropriate level of care.
· Ensure that patient records and charges are complete and prepared for Health Information Management’s (HIM) review.
· Follow written policies and procedures as established.
· Assist with inputting data for the department’s quality measures.
