We are unfortunately looking for a new home for our 6-month-old Lab/Brittany Spaniel mix, Creed.

We adopted Creed from the Hays Animal Shelter and have had him for around six months. He has integrated wonderfully with our other dog and our children. He is housebroken, intelligent, VERY loving, and is an absolute cuddle bug. He loves his people and has a lot of personality.

As he has gotten older and stronger, we have realized that he is a very strong-willed, high-energy puppy with destructive tendencies that we are struggling to keep up with. We have worked with him on training, exercise, runs, and getting his energy out, but he requires more time, consistency, and correction than we are currently able to give him.

Our biggest concern has become his ability to escape. He has broken through our fence several times and continues to find ways out. While he has fortunately never truly left our property, we are increasingly worried about his safety, especially because we live near a highway. Our current fence is also not in a position where we can afford to completely replace or reinforce it.

This is NOT a decision we are making because we don't love him. Quite honestly, that's what makes this so difficult. We know Creed is a wonderful, loving, intelligent dog who deserves a home that can give him the time, structure, exercise, and secure space that he needs to thrive.

We are looking for a responsible and loving home that understands the commitment of a young, energetic dog and is willing to continue working with him. He would likely do best with someone who has the time and space to really wear him out and continue his training.

Creed is not a bad dog but he is a young, strong-willed puppy who needs more than we are currently able to provide. We want to be honest about that rather than continue struggling and ultimately put him or someone else at risk.
