Athletic Events & Facilities Operations Specialist (Part-time)

Position Description: The Athletic Events & Facilities Operations Specialist assists with maintaining & preparing facilities to ensure a safe, clean, & professional environment for student-athletes, staff, & spectators. This role primarily assists with pre- and post-event set-up and teardown, but may also include seasonal facility maintenance, cleaning, & equipment operation & assisting with special events.

Hours will vary depending on the number of events each week. Work will be conducted predominantly during nights and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license in good standing.

Preferred Qualifications:

· 1 year of Facility or Event experience

· Experience operating cleaning equipment preferred.

Salary: $17 per hour, working no more than 999 hours per fiscal year

Responsibilities:

· Predominately assist with teardown and post-event cleanup, returning facilities to game-ready and daily-use condition efficiently and safely.

· Occasionally, provide on-site support during or after collegiate athletic events, tournaments, and practices to troubleshoot facility issues and ensure a positive experience for athletes, staff, and fans.

· On occasion, assist with setting up for athletic contests, championships, commencements, and special events, including seating, signage, equipment, and media areas.

· Assist with preparing collegiate athletic facilities, including stadiums, arenas, practice fields, courts, weight rooms, locker rooms, and support areas, to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for student-athletes, staff, and fans.

· Perform exterior maintenance, including snow removal, debris clearance, and preparation of fields and courts for practices and competitions.

· Safely operate and maintain equipment such as auto floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, high-pressure washers, high-speed floor buffers, and vacuums.

· Pre- and post- event cleaning, including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and shampooing floors and carpets as needed, including high-traffic areas used by student-athletes and spectators.

· Clean and sanitize restrooms according to established procedures and restock dispensers to support large-scale events.

· Lift and carry items up to 50 lbs. safely, including athletic equipment, event supplies, and furniture.

· Ensure safety equipment such as nets, padding, goal posts, and mats are properly installed and in good condition.

· On occasion, install or disconnect and store audio-visual equipment, including PA systems and scoreboards.

· Perform additional duties as assigned to support the success of the athletic department and events.
